BlockchainWork Participates in Vietnam’s First AI Ethics Training Course – Building a Foundation for Responsible AI
On May 16, 2025, BlockchainWork—represented by CEO Tien Le—had the honor of attending the AI Ethics training course co-organized by the Academy of Blockchain and AI Innovation (ABAII) and the U.S. Consulate General. As the first AI ethics course of its kind in Vietnam, it was hosted in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and welcomed over 700 participants, including professors, PhDs, tech leaders, and business executives from across the country.
Held on May 12–13 in Hanoi and May 15–16 in Ho Chi Minh City, the program marked a pioneering step in shaping the ethical and responsible development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Vietnam.

AI Ethics: Global Standards, Local Relevance
Ethical use of AI has become a priority worldwide—especially in leading nations like the United States, Japan, South Korea, and across the European Union. In the U.S., major tech corporations have already implemented internal governance frameworks to guide responsible and transparent AI development.
In Vietnam, the importance of AI ethics was emphasized in the National Strategy on AI Research, Development, and Application to 2030 (Decision No. 127/QĐ-TTg dated January 26, 2021), which identifies ethics and policy as a critical pillar.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Jeremy Luna, Press Officier at the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, stressed the urgent need for responsible AI: “As AI transforms every facet of society, we must ensure that this powerful technology is developed and deployed with responsibility at its core.”
Mr. Phan Duc Trung, Chairman of the Vietnam Blockchain Association, highlighted that ethical principles in AI must be tailored to the real-world context and scale of each organization. Rather than applying a rigid framework, he emphasized the importance of phased implementation, beginning with fundamental principles and evolving alongside organizational growth.
“AI Should Elevate, Not Replace Humanity”
Mr. Dao Trung Thanh, Deputy Director of ABAII, delivered a powerful message: “AI shouldn’t replace humans—it should elevate us. And AI ethics is not optional—it’s the foundation of public trust in the digital era.”
The course content was built on internationally recognized ethical frameworks—including UNESCO, OECD, NIST, and the White House’s AI Bill of Rights—while being contextualized for Vietnam’s legal and cultural environment. This initiative plays a key role in aligning with the national strategy to promote AI development guided by ethical principles.
A Milestone in Vietnam’s Responsible AI Journey
One of the project’s key initiators, Ms. Tran Vu Ha Minh – Responsible AI Advisor at FPT; Founder of Humane-AI Asia; Member of the ABAII Digital Asset and AI Ethics Council – shared her reflections on the course’s one-year development: “This was truly a miracle within a miracle. Despite delays due to shifts in international policy, the U.S. Embassy stood by its full support. More than 400 professionals were trained over four days—proof of how essential and impactful this field is in Vietnam.”
She also emphasized the invaluable support of ABAII and the strategic partnership with Babl (U.S.), a leading AI consultancy. The course was further supported by three original academic texts: AI Ethics, U.S. AI Policy, and Responsible AI in U.S. Enterprises—developed by a young, local team under expert guidance.
BlockchainWork’s Vision: Human-Centered Technology
As a platform at the intersection of technology, workforce development, and the blockchain ecosystem, BlockchainWork recognizes that ethical AI isn’t just a technology issue—it’s a strategic concern for human resource management and organizational culture.
Reflecting on the course, CEO BlockchainWork Tien Le shared: “Before we optimize AI for performance, we must first teach it about ethics and organizational culture. AI is a reflection of its creators—it can magnify not only our intelligence but also our biases and flaws.”
She emphasized that ethical challenges in AI are rooted in human challenges. Therefore, responsibility must be shared by developers, users, and policymakers alike.
By joining this pioneering initiative, BlockchainWork reaffirms its commitment to human-centered innovation, promoting sustainable growth of the blockchain workforce through the lens of ethical, responsible AI.
