BlockchainWork Interview with Eric Lee: Bringing Trust Back to Digital Voting

Blockchain technology is rapidly expanding across finance, entertainment, governance, supply chain, identity, and many other real-world sectors. To provide a more practical and diverse perspective on how blockchain is being applied, BlockchainWork conducted an interview with Mr. Erik Lee, CEO of MyStarPick, a blockchain-based voting platform originally founded in Korea. The session was conducted by Ms. Tien Le, CEO of BlockchainWork.

MyStarPick transforms the way audiences vote in competitions by recording every vote on-chain, ensuring transparency, fairness, and tamper-proof results. Let’s explore the applications of blockchain in voting and Mr.Erik perspectives on Vietnam market’s potential.

Q&A Interview with Mr.Eric Lee

BlockchainWork: Could you introduce yourself and share how your journey in blockchain led to the creation of MyStarPick?

Mr. Erik: Our story began in Korea after a high-profile vote manipulation scandal in an idol audition program. The producer was arrested, and fans lost trust in traditional voting systems. During my work in an investment fund, I gained early exposure to blockchain’s potential and became convinced it would transform multiple industries. Our team believed it could restore fairness and transparency. That’s how MyStarPick began, and we wanted to build a platform where both contestant and fans could finally say ‘Yes, I can trust this result’.

BlockchainWork: How does MyStarPick make blockchain voting simple for non-technical users?

Mr. Erik: The biggest challenge for blockchain apps is user experience. Users wanted transparency but didn’t understand the technology. In the beginning many users said, “Okay I got the blockchain prevent the cheating rigging but I don’t really understand how it works”. We solved this by tying every vote to a token transaction. When you vote, that number of tokens moves from your account to the contestant’s account. You can click the transaction ID on our platform and see the on-chain proof instantly – no need to understand smart contracts. Users simply log in with their social accounts; we manage the blockchain in the backend.
That’s how we keep transparency and simplicity.

BlockchainWork: What role do you think blockchain will play in the future of competitions and digital governance?

Mr. Erik: Trust is the foundation of any competition. Blockchain ensures that trust. Beyond voting, blockchain enables new governance models like DAOs and NFT-based participation, giving communities a real voice. What we do in entertainment can easily be expanded to companies, public institutions, and even government-level governance.

BlockchainWork: How do you evaluate Vietnam compared to other Asian markets?

Mr. Erik: Vietnam is one of the most exciting markets in Asia. People here are tech-savvy, open-minded, and active in blockchain. Vietnam has a strong culture of beauty pageants and talent competitions, there’s a young energetic audience that love to participate, which aligns perfectly with our use cases. The developer talents in Vietnam are world-class. For us, Vietnam is not just a market – it’s a place to collaborate and grow together.

BlockchainWork: What advice would you give young Vietnamese professionals who want to join global blockchain projects?

Mr. Erik: Don’t chase hype. The projects that survive are those solving real problems. My advice is that don’t just focus on blockchain tech itself but master your domain/vertical whether is finance, gaming or entertainment. Think about how blockchain can actually make it better. This is a global community, and Vietnam has a great mix of local energy and international connections. It’s the perfect place to start.

BlockchainWork: Thank you for your sharing.

Closing Remarks

This conversation with Mr. Erik of MyStarPick highlights how blockchain can rebuild trust in voting and reshape governance in entertainment and beyond. For Vietnam, the opportunity is clear: a fast-growing blockchain market, strong developer base, and an active user community make it an ideal place to grow blockchain projects.

For BlockchainWork, the interview reinforces the importance of fostering collaboration between global blockchain projects and Vietnam’s emerging talent ecosystem.
