BlockchainWork Interview with TOPPAN Edge: Exploring Web3 Certification
During WebX 2025 in Tokyo, BlockchainWork had the opportunity to conduct an interview with Mr. Yasuhiro Fujiwara, Team Leader of the Solution Development 1st Team at TOPPAN Edge Inc., a TOPPAN Group company and wholly owned subsidiary of TOPPAN Holdings. The interview was conducted by Ms. Tien Le, CEO of BlockchainWork, who leads Vietnam’s leading blockchain talent platform.
TOPPAN Edge Inc. was originally established as a printing company, producing business forms for financial institutions. Mr. Yasuhiro Fujiwara works in a department focused on research and development as well as business development in the Web3 domain.

Q&A Interview

Ms. Tien Le: Looking ahead, how do you see tokenization and Web3 evolving in the future?
Mr. Fujiwara: I believe that without the widespread adoption of crypto assets and cryptocurrencies, the Web3 world cannot truly expand. Our current focus is on building digital certificate infrastructure to ensure transparent and reliable transactions. Once that foundation is established, we expect to see the rise of real-world asset tokenization – where physical assets are digitized and traded.
Ms. Tien Le: Can you share a concrete use case where TOPPAN Group’s technology has been applied in blockchain certification?
Mr. Fujiwara: We have a case study of issuing a digital certificate for a Japanese product, conducted with the assumption of using a blockchain. We support a well-known Japanese spirits company to issue a “digital purchase certificate” to purchasers of its limited-edition premium product. However, we don’t directly manage blockchain ourselves. Instead, we collaborate with blockchain-specialized companies to deliver such solutions. Blockchain is a complex concept, so partnerships are essential.
Ms. Tien Le: Many students and young professionals are entering the Web3 space. What advice would you give them?
Mr. Fujiwara: Don’t try to do everything alone. It’s important to discuss ideas with others, collaborate, and shape the future together. For students, this approach makes it easier and more engaging to enter the Web3 world.
