On March 26th, the event “Exploring Blockchain Career Opportunities” was hosted at HUTECH University of Technology in Ho Chi Minh City. The event began with remarks from Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Vice President of HUTECH, who highlighted the vast potential of blockchain technology and the career opportunities it offers.

This event is an excellent chance for students to learn from industry leaders and blockchain experts and to chart their own career paths. Overview of the blockchain industry

The event continued with an insightful presentation from Mr. Le Anh Quoc, technology expert at the Vietnam Blockchain Association and COO of AlphaTrue Corporation. He provided an overview of the blockchain industry, from its early days with Bitcoin to its current market value, now reaching trillions of dollars.

Mr. Quoc explained that blockchain is not limited to cryptocurrency applications; it is rapidly expanding into areas such as international payments, real-world asset tokenization, regulatory technology (regtech), and cybersecurity. These applications are revolutionizing industries and creating a wealth of new job opportunities, especially in high-tech fields where Vietnam’s young, tech-savvy workforce and strategic location give the country a competitive edge in blockchain development in Southeast Asia.

Blockchain career opportunities for vietnam talents

Ms. Le Ngoc My Tien, CEO and Cofounder of BlockchainWork, shared her insights on the future of the blockchain industry. She highlighted the annual growth rate of 65.5% for blockchain, with the market projected to reach $248.9 billion by 2029. However, the industry is facing a significant talent gap.

She pointed out that Vietnam, with its youthful workforce, keen interest in technology, and ranking in the top 5 for cryptocurrency ownership, is well-positioned to play a key role in the development of blockchain in Southeast Asia.

“The recruitment trend for blockchain jobs in Vietnam from 2024-2025 will see 70% of positions being non-technical and 30% technical. Young Vietnamese talents who start early in blockchain, combining skills in technology, finance, and economics, will be well-positioned to work on global-scale projects. In Vietnam, earning international salaries (from the US and Europe) is a norm in the blockchain/Web 3.0 industry,” Ms. Tien shared.

One key highlight of the event was the opportunity for students to network with industry professionals and organizations. Attendees also received valuable tips on using AI, accessing resources for beginners, building impressive CVs, and preparing for blockchain job interviews.

The event not only provided essential knowledge but also helped students develop a clear career path while still in school, creating a strong foundation to enter the technology market.
