GITEX Asia 2025: A Landmark Event Showcasing AI, Blockchain
The inaugural GITEX Asia x Ai Everything Singapore 2025, held from April 23 to 25 at Marina Bay Sands, marked a historic milestone as the world’s largest tech and startup event made its Asian debut. Organized by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International, the event convened over 1,000 global enterprises and startups from more than 120 countries, alongside 250+ global investors and venture capitalists managing $200 billion in funds. With more than 220 speakers from over 60 countries participated in discussions, exchanges, and networking across eight stages within the exhibition venue, GITEX Asia 2025 solidified Southeast Asia’s position as a global hub for technology, innovation, and digital investment. Enterprise software providers like Laserfiche and Nintex demonstrated AI-powered content management and process automation solutions adopted globally.
Blockchain technology was also a significant theme, supported by the Blockchain Association Singapore (BAS) as an official ecosystem partner. Discussions focused on blockchain’s potential to enhance transparency, security, and efficiency across industries. While blockchain remains an emerging area compared to AI, regional interest is growing, with Vietnam aiming to expand its blockchain footprint in finance, supply chain management, and public services.
Notable blockchain and cybersecurity showcases included companies demonstrating scalable solutions for fintech and healthcare, as well as organizations spotlighting advancements in decentralized finance (DeFi) and AI-enabled cybersecurity. These efforts reflect the region’s increasing commitment to digital trust and innovation.
Economic and Investment Landscape in Asia
GITEX Asia 2025 highlighted Asia’s dynamic and rapidly expanding digital economy. The region’s e-commerce market is projected to continue robust growth, supported by increasing internet penetration and digital adoption. Especially in Southeast Asia, Vietnam’s digital economy is expected to reach significant milestones in the coming years, driven by strong consumer demand and government initiatives, draw big attentions of investors.
Venture capital interest in the region remains strong, with funding expected to surpass previous years’ levels, reflecting growing investor confidence. Organizations such as the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) actively facilitated regional expansion by bringing promising tech firms to GITEX Asia and supporting startup pitch competitions like the Supernova Challenge.
Vietnam’s NIC and Startup Ecosystem
Vietnam’s presence at GITEX Asia 2025 was marked by its first official national pavilion, organized by the Vietnam National Innovation Centre (NIC). NIC showcased Vietnam’s ambitions to become a major semiconductor hub and grow its digital economy substantially by 2025 and beyond. Under the leadership of Vu Quoc Huy, NIC actively connected Vietnamese startups with global venture capitalists, facilitating cross-border partnerships and investment opportunities.
The upcoming GITEX Vietnam, set for October 1-2, 2026, in Hanoi, will further amplify this momentum, targeting a $200 billion digital economy by 2030. At GITEX Asia 2025, Vietnamese startup ADT Global made headlines when its AI-powered personal finance assistant, Nomi, won First Prize in the “GITEX Europe Award” category at the prestigious Supernova Pitch Competition. Nomi stood out among more than 350 startups from 60 countries, impressing judges with its innovative use of large language models to help users manage their finances smartly and efficiently.
