BlockchainWork closes Seed 2 at 142,000 USD from Japanese investors: Three strategic priorities for the next growth phase

BlockchainWork, Vietnam’s leading blockchain talent community and recruitment platform, has officially announced the completion of its Seed 2 funding round, raising nearly USD 142,000 in total. The capital comes from 4 strategic investors based in Japan – notably, 3 of the 4 had already backed the company in its Seed 1 round, the first funding round totaling USD 87,000, closed in 2024.

In venture capital, when existing investors choose to follow on into the next round, it’s more than financial validation – it’s proof of a team’s execution and credibility. These investors have seen how BlockchainWork operates, tracked how the team grew from Seed 1 capital, and chose to continue.

Seed 1 (USD 87,000, 2024) was used to build the foundation: developing the blockchainwork.net platform, growing the candidate and employer network, and establishing strategic connections in Vietnam. Two years on, BlockchainWork has built a community of 20,000+ candidates, 300+ enterprise and educational partners domestically and internationally, and holds active memberships with both the Japan Blockchain Association (JBA) and the Vietnam Blockchain and Digital Assets Association (VBA).

Vietnam’s Blockchain Market Enters a Pivotal Phase with a Regulatory Framework for Sustainable Growth

BlockchainWork’s investment decisions and business development are aligned with a broader market picture.

On Vietnam’s side: In September 2025, the Government issued Resolution 05/2025/NQ-CP, officially piloting a regulated cryptocurrency asset market for 5 years – the first time Vietnam established a controlled sandbox mechanism for the sector. The Digital Technology Industry Law (effective 2026) formally recognizes digital assets as a legal category of digital property. Vietnam currently ranks 4th globally in crypto adoption (Chainalysis, 2025), with approximately 17.4% of the population owning digital assets.

On the global market side: The global blockchain market is projected to grow from USD 57.7 billion (2025) to USD 1,431.5 billion by 2030, at a CAGR of 90.1% (Grand View Research, 2024). This is the growth foundation for the entire industry – talent included.

On the talent side: According to BlockchainWork’s Vietnam Blockchain Job Market Report 2025, a notable structural shift is underway: 53.4% of hiring demand now comes from non-tech roles (Marketing, Business Development, Community, Operations). The industry is moving from a technical build-out phase into commercialization – and it needs a different workforce to lead that transition.

BlockchainWork was founded in 2021 from a simple but clear observation: the blockchain-web3 industry was booming, but the talent market hadn’t kept pace. The founding team – a group of Vietnamese and Japanese entrepreneurs with deep expertise in technology and international commerce – chose to stand exactly at that intersection. The company is led by four co-founders: Ms. Le Ngoc My Tien (CEO), Mr. Eiji Shioda and Mr. Koichiro Abe (Board Members), and Mr. Phan Trung Hieu (Chairman), united by a shared mission to connect Vietnamese blockchain talent with global opportunities.

Today, blockchainwork.net connects 20,000+ candidates with employers across the blockchain and digital technology space. In parallel, insider.blockchainwork.net operates as a dedicated blockchain-web3 content channel, covering market trends, industry analysis, international news, and emerging career opportunities within the blockchain ecosystem.

Three Strategic Priorities for Seed 2

The Seed 2 capital will be concentrated across three clear priorities:

1. Dominant market leadership in Vietnam’s blockchain talent space

The goal isn’t simply to be the largest – it’s to become the first place employers think of when they need blockchain talent, and the platform candidates trust to shape their careers. BlockchainWork will grow its candidate and employer network through connectivity programs, industry events, and strategic partnerships – focused on capability-based hiring and long-term industry commitment, not traditional resume screening.

2. AI-first product development

Applying artificial intelligence to profile optimization, candidate-employer matching recommendations, and internal operations. The AI-first approach doesn’t just improve user experience – it builds the infrastructure for BlockchainWork to scale faster at optimized operating costs. That’s a durable competitive advantage in a rapidly growing market.

3. Connecting Vietnamese talent to global opportunities

The primary focus is deepening connections to Asian markets, particularly Japan and Singapore. Japan is both an investment market and a talent market – with a mature Web3 ecosystem and specialized hiring demand that local supply cannot fully meet. Vietnam, with its young IT workforce and high adaptability, holds a clear competitive edge – given the right bridge.

International Moves Running in Parallel with the Funding Round

During the same period as the Seed 2 close, BlockchainWork executed a series of international expansions:

April 2026 – MOU with Open Campus (Animoca Brands ecosystem): Open Campus is a protocol building financial and credentialing infrastructure for community-led global education. The partnership aims to connect real job opportunities for the next generation of Web3 talent – where the journey from learning to career is seamlessly linked.

May 2026 – Exchange interns from Singapore Management University (SMU): A student from one of Asia’s top universities came to learn and conduct research directly at BlockchainWork’s office. Beyond academic collaboration, this creates a cross-border channel for knowledge exchange and early-stage talent development at the very beginning of their career journeys.

“We are witnessing a clear shift: the next generation of industry talent doesn’t just need to understand blockchain – they need to know how to leverage AI to design and deploy blockchain solutions across specific sectors like finance, logistics, healthcare, the arts, and supply chains. This is no longer a future skill – it is a core competitive capability of the present. Vietnam, with its young, tech-savvy workforce and rapid adaptability to innovation, is strategically positioned to become the leading source of blockchain-AI talent for the Asia region.”

BlockchainWork is not simply an HR company. Behind every candidate-employer connection is a broader vision: Vietnam – with a workforce of over 101 million people, 84.2% internet penetration, and the 5th largest startup ecosystem in Southeast Asia (Startup Blink, 2025) – is ideally positioned to become Asia’s blockchain talent hub.
